Big Cypress National Preserve

Covering 720,000 acres, the Big Cypress National Preserve is located on the southwest Florida Gulf Coast – just east of Naples. An early United States National Preserve, Big Cypress was established in 1974, and draws nearly one million annual visitors.

Operated by the National Park Service, Big Cypress features canoeing, cycling, and hiking the Florida National Scenic Trail. Hunting and off-roading are also permissible, and be sure to check out the Oasis Visitor Center and the Swamp Heritage Festival.
