Pro Hockey Teams in Florida

The Florida Panthers & Tampa Bay Lightning

On your next visit to Florida, head for the Keys and be sure to check out a Florida Panthers hockey game. While hockey isn't exactly the first thing you might think of when planning your Florida visit, it's a popular destination during the fall and into the spring – fans can choose from the Panthers or the Tampa Bay Lightning.

From cities like Kendall and Fort Lauderdale, or those closer to the Tampa area like Venice and Bradenton, you'll be close to all the hard hits, slap shots, and glove saves the NHL is known for.

The Florida Panthers are based out of Sunrise just north of downtown Miami. The Panthers play in the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the NHL.

Find your way into Sunrise from nearby cities like Miami Beach, Hallandale Beach, and Florida City during the fall and check out an exciting Panthers game. The NHL drops the puck on the season every October, playing games through the spring into June for the playoffs.

When your travel plans have you visiting Tampa and west central Florida, make sure you visit the Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Lightning were established in 1992 and have been headquartered in Tampa for the duration. The Lightning have seen marginal success, winning the 2003 Stanley Cup.

Find your way to the Amalie Arena from nearby cities like Crystal River, Dunedin, or Auburndale. The former Tampa Bay Times Forum opened in 1996, and features a maximum seating capacity of 20,500 fans.

The Lightning and Panthers provide the thrill and excitement of the NHL for fans across Florida. Join the action on your Florida travels – from South Beach to Tampa and all the pleasant cites in between.
