Arts Festivals in Georgia

Arts festivals across the state take place throughout the year and showcase local artists. Visit a festival and take home a handmade, one-of-a-kind souvenir. One of the highlights of the festival calendar is the Decatur Arts Festival, held over Memorial Day Weekend. The annual event spans the arts, with artists displaying their work and live performances that include music, comedy, and dance. Also a Memorial Day Weekend event, the Blairsville Arts, Crafts, and Music Festival displays local artisans' craftwork and features the sounds of gospel music.

In Alpharetta, arts festivals are a monthly happening. Art in the Park takes place the last weekend of each month from May through September. The annual Piedmont Arts Festival is one of the biggest arts events in Atlanta, taking over the park to showcase more than 250 artists' work in media that range from paint to metal to glass and jewelry. Atlanta is also the location of the National Black Arts Festival, sharing the creativity of African American artists working in the performing, visual, and literary arts.
