Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park was the site of the Atlanta Campaign, and in 1864 the U.S. Civil War raged across these lands for four months. Today the nearly 3,000 acres are a peaceful site to explore, whether you go in search of history or great outdoor adventures.
Start your discovery in the Visitor Center. A film introduces you to the park's landscape and history. Take time afterwards to examine artifacts in the museum. For more information on the historic events, attend a Ranger-led talk. To enjoy the park's scenery, drive to the top of the mountain or take the park shuttle. There are more than 22 miles of trail to explore on foot; bikes are welcome on open, paved roads.
