Martin Luther King Jr National Historic Site
The history of the Civil Rights movement can be explored at the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site in Atlanta. The site includes King's boyhood home, the church where he was baptized and served as pastor, as well as a museum and a peace garden.
Begin at the Visitor Center, to get an overview of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and information about the buildings that make up the site. Pause for a moment in the I Have a Dream World Peace Rose Garden, and sign up to take a ranger-led tour of the MLK Jr. Birth Home. Continue your exploration at the Ebenezer Baptist Church and through the Sweet Auburn Historic District of Atlanta.
