Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park
Stretching across over 180 miles, the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Park preserves one of the earliest mass transit systems in the U.S. The canal passes through Maryland and D.C. – including a stop in Berkley Springs and other cities in northeast West Virginia.
Just east of Berkley Springs, the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center in Potomac features a plethora a variety of museum displays and interactive exhibits. Guests can explore the canal by hiking, biking, and walking one of the many trails weaving around Potomac River.
