Just a short distance north from the Carl Hayden Visitor Center, Wahweap Overlook is one of the highest points around, yielding some of the grandest 360-degree views of Glen Canyon Dam.

Jerome-Clarkdale-Cottonwood Historic Road travels Route89A for 10 miles. On your way to the historic copper mining town of Jerome, you’ll encounter a zigzagging ascent to Cleopatra Hill. On the descent to Clarkdale, enjoy incredible views of the Verde River Valley and Mogollon Rim.
Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road
Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road was once a cattle trail and wagon route. Drive along AZ-89A for 14.5 miles and marvel at views of red rock formations. Ascend 4500 feet and enjoy a picnic at Oak Creek or a hike through the pine and fir forests.
