Though technically an unincorporated community, Summerhaven is a major travel destination in southern Arizona. Found on Mount Lemmon, Summerhaven is a short, scenic drive northeast from Tucson. You'll enjoy the sights and natural beauty as you drive along the Mount Lemmon Scenic Byway.

During the winter, many southern Arizona visitors and residents enjoy the skiing at the nearby Mount Lemmon Ski Valley. The Summerhaven General Store offers almost everything you might need, and the nearby Mount Lemmon SkyCenter is an ideal destination for sunset views and star gazing.

Wahweap Overlook

As you embark on your next tour of northern Arizona, be sure to plan a visit to Page, where you'll find the Wahweap Overlook. Just a short distance north from the Carl Hayden Visitor Center, Wahweap Overlook is one of the highest points around, yielding some of the grandest 360-degree views of Glen Canyon Dam.

Many visitors to the Page area head for the Wahweap Overlook either at sunrise or sunset – you'll find the most dazzling views as the sun rays dance on the water at Glen Canyon. Jerome-Clarkdale-Cottonwood Historic Road travels Route89A for 10 miles. On your way to the historic copper mining town of Jerome, you’ll encounter a zigzagging ascent to Cleopatra Hill. On the descent to Clarkdale, enjoy incredible views of the Verde River Valley and Mogollon Rim.

Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road

Sedona’s Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road was once a cattle trail and wagon route. Drive along AZ-89A for 14.5 miles and marvel at views of red rock formations. Ascend 4500 feet and enjoy a picnic at Oak Creek or a hike through the pine and fir forests.
