Visiting Southern Nevada
A visit to southern Nevada can yield aquatic adventures on Lake Mead – among other outdoor recreations – multi-day road trips through local must-see attractions, and a whole host of pleasant and attractive sites to help make your visit memorable. Plan your next visit to the Silver State for summer, autumn, or into the winter and have a blast exploring the southern region.
Though many will know southern NV as the home of Las Vegas, you’ll find a variety of welcoming and warm cities, each offering seasonal events and celebrations sure to entertain all members of the family. Make your way Pahrump, found directly west of Las Vegas on the opposite side of Toiyabe National Forest.
Make sure you visit the area in late September and treat the family to a day or two at the Pahrump Fall Festival where you will find rides for all ages, and a sprawling array of food vendors.
Later in the year, as winter sets in, be sure to check out one of Pahrump’s premier sand dunes events – Best in the Desert Pahrump Nugget 250 “Race for the Gold.” Watch as nearly 175 trucks, cars, and UTVs will race the 242-mile loop for a chance to win huge prizes.
In late October, you’ll want to make plans to visit Henderson. Because it yields such quick and easy trips into Las Vegas, Henderson is a premier destination for it’s own local events, and those nearby to the north.
