What is the Best Western Travel Card®?
The Best Western Travel Card (“Travel Card” is a prepaid gift card, which can be loaded with one of three different currencies (U.S. Dollar, Canadian Dollar and Euro*). A Travel Card can be used to pay for Best Western® hotel lodging charges (i.e. room night charges and applicable taxes). Acceptance of Travel Cards for services other than lodging charges is at the discretion of the individual hotel.

What currencies can be loaded on the Travel Card?

  • CAD – Canadian Dollar
  • USD – US Dollar
  • EUR – Euro*

Can I redeem the Travel Card loaded with a currency other than the local currency?
Yes. You can redeem the Travel Card worldwide at all Best Western branded hotels. It does not matter which currency is loaded on the card. The redeemed amount is converted automatically into the local currency.

Who can use the Travel Card?
Anyone. The Travel Card can be purchased for personal use, company travel, or employee incentives. It is ideal gift for family or friends for special occasions. The Travel Card is not personalized.

Are Travel Cards transferable?
Yes. Once purchased, Travel Cards can be given to and used by anyone, subject to prevailing the laws and each hotel’s policies (e.g., age limits)

Do Travel Cards Expire?
Travel Cards issued for payment of the face value of the Travel Card do not expire. Travel Cards as promotional or loyalty awards or for other promotional purposes may contain an expiration date.

Where can the Travel Card be used?
The Travel Card can be used at any Best Western branded hotel worldwide toward hotel lodging charges (i.e., room night charges and applicable taxes). Acceptance of the Travel Card for services other than lodging charges is at the discretion of the hotel.

How does someone use the Travel Card?
At check-in, a guest simply presents the Travel Card, personal credit card or other form of payment guarantee, and a valid form of identification. Total charges are reduced from the amount available on the Travel Card.

Can Best Western Rewards® points or airline rewards be earned for stays purchased with Travel Cards?
Yes, points or airline rewards can be earned by Best Western Rewards members on qualified stays using the Travel Card.

Can the Travel Card be used as a form of reservation guarantee?
No. The Travel Card may not be used as a form of reservation guarantee. A credit card is needed to guarantee a room, and the hotel’s cancellation and no-show policy apply.

Are advanced reservations required?
Advance reservations are not required.

Is the Travel Card reloadable?
Yes. The Travel Card is a reloadable gift card.

Where can I reload my Travel Card?
Travel Cards can be reloaded at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide, online at travelcard.bestwestern.com and through participating Travel Professionals.

Can a guest pay the difference if he or she does not have enough value left on the Travel Card?
Yes. If the total purchase cost exceeds the amount of the Travel Card, the difference can be paid using other forms of payment, such as a credit card.

What if a Travel Card is lost, stolen or destroyed?
Travel Cards carry no value until activated. Travel Cards are not returnable, refundable or redeemable for cash, and may not be resold or transferred for value, except to the extent required by law. Lost, stolen or damage Travel Cards will not be canceled or replaced with card number and proof of purchase. Unlawful resale or attempted resale is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation.

How can someone purchase a Travel Card?
Travel Cards can be purchased at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide, online at travelcard.bestwestern.com and through participating Travel Professionals. 

How will the Travel Card be delivered?
Travel Cards can be shipped by email, mail or courier service.

Are there any shipping and handling charges?
Yes, shipping and handling charges depend upon the shipping preference.

I have chosen the wrong design for the Travel Card I purchased. May I change the design?
No, unfortunately it is not possible to change the chosen design after the purchase.

Do you ship to PO Boxes?
Yes, Travel Card can be shipped to PO Boxes.

General Terms

  • The Best Western Travel Card® is referred to herein as the "Travel Card" or, collectively, as "Travel Cards."
  • Travel Cards are stored value cards and contain currencies.
  • Travel Cards are issued in the form of a physical plastic card electronic card or, in some circumstances and in some locations, digital printable format.
  • Guests must have the plastic, electronic or digital printable format of the Travel Card in their possession to receive the value of the card.
  • Travel Cards issued for payment of the face value of the Travel Card carry no expiration date.
  • In limited circumstances, Travel Cards provided as promotional awards or otherwise for promotional purposes may contain an expiration date.
  • Travel Cards carry no value until activated. Travel Cards are not returnable, refundable or redeemable for cash, and may not be resold or transferred for value, except to the extent required by law. Lost, stolen or damaged Travel Cards will not be canceled or replaced without card number and proof of purchase. Unlawful resale or attempted resale is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation.
  • Except where prohibited by law, Best Western® reserves the right to refuse, deactivate, cancel, reject or hold for review any Travel Card mistakenly issued in an incorrect denomination or issued or procured, directly or indirectly, in connection with fraudulent actions or in connection with any violation of these terms and conditions.
  • Travel Cards purchased or bartered from sources other than Best Western licensed vendors (“Unlicensed Vendors”) are not valid or redeemable. Best Western is not responsible for honoring a Travel Card purchased from an Unlicensed Vendor. Travel Cards may not be resold by any Unlicensed Vendor or individual under penalty of law. If the Travel Card was purchased through an “Unlicensed Vendor”, Best Western reserves the right to refuse providing any additional card information. Please contact Best Western at 1(877) 227-3288 to obtain a list of Best Western-licensed vendors prior to purchase.
  • In the interest of protecting you from fraud, we recommend consumers do not purchase Travel Cards from “Unlicensed Vendors”.
  • No individual or entity may purchase more than $10,000 in Travel Cards in a 24-hour period.
  • Travel Cards cannot be applied to pre-paid reservations.


Travel Card

  • Travel Cards can be purchased at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide, online at travelcard.bestwestern.com and through participating travel professionals. Travel Cards can be used toward Best Western hotel lodging charges (i.e., room night charges and applicable taxes). Acceptance of the Travel Card for services other than hotel lodging charges is at the discretion of the individual hotel.
  • Travel Cards purchased via travelcard.bestwestern.com can be reloaded online at www.travelcard.bestwestern.com, or at participating Best Western branded hotels worldwide.
  • Travel Cards are available for purchase in the following currencies: U.S. Dollar, Canadian Dollar, and the Euro*.
  • The purchaser is responsible for providing an accurate mailing address and email address. Best Western is not responsible for delivery of a Travel Card to an incorrect but deliverable address or a non-existent address that is provided by the purchaser.

Purchasing a Travel Card via travelcard.bestwestern.com

  • If a purchaser uses a credit card (e.g., American Express, MasterCard, etc.) to purchase a Travel Card in a currency other than USD, such currency must be converted to USD and may be subject to a conversion fee. Fee(s) subject to prevailing conversion rates. Please check with your credit card provider for more information.
  • Fees for international credit card transactions may appear depending on services provided by the purchaser's local bank. Please consult your credit card provider for specific details regarding applicable international fees.

Use of the Travel Card at a Best Western Branded Hotel

  • At time of check-in, guests must present their Travel Card and a personal credit card or other form of payment guarantee.
  • Best Western reserves the right to request a form of security deposit in advance for expenses not covered by the Travel Card. Travel Cards cannot be used as a form of advance deposit or a guarantee for room reservations.
  • The value available on the card will be reduced by the total charges. It is the responsibility of the cardholder to keep track of the value of their Travel Card. Travel Card balances can be tracked online at travelcard.bestwestern.com. The balance may also be checked by calling Travel Card Customer Service (see contact information below).
