The White House

The White House in the nation's capitol of Washington D.C. has been the symbol of the United States President for more than 200 years.

President John Adams was the first president to move into the White House in 1800, and President Theodore Roosevelt named this iconic structure the "White House" in 1901.

The White House remains the only head of state residence open to the public for free tours.
