Walsenburg Golf Course

Pack up your Ping's and head for the Walsenburg Golf Course, one of the top courses in all of southern Colorado. If you prefer Titleist, Taylor Made, Nike – or any brand of golf club, really – you'll find the conditions and course just right at Walsenburg Golf Course. 

Found just north of Highway 160 along Black Diamond Drive, the Walsenburg Golf Course is a highlight attraction in the city of Walsenburg. As part of the Lathrop State Park, Walseburg Golf Course is on the east side of Martin Lake, and features nine sterling holes. Play it twice and make it a full 18 holes – it's a top executive course in Colorado.

Bandimere Speedway

A top destination for race fans in Colorado, the Bandimere Speedway seats 23,500 and was opened in 1958. Bandimere Speedway is a quarter-mile drag strip which hosts a number of NHRA events, including the Mile-High Nationals. 

As you plan a trip for the Denver area, head for Lakewood and be sure to experience the raw power and excitement of an NHRA event. In 1988, Bandimere Raceway, also known as Thunder Mountain, was renovated and expanded to improve seating capacity.
