Tour Rainbow Bridge National Monument
Considered to be the largest natural bridge in the world, Rainbow Bridge National Monument in San Juan County in Southern Utah is quite a sight to behold. The Monument stands as a sacred place to several Native American tribes, as well as a park of outstanding natural beauty.
Set inside the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the Rainbow Bridge is a stunning sandstone formation reaching 290 feet at its tallest point. It is best viewed via a boat tour of Lake Powell, although there are other options. Seasonal boat tours leave from Wahweap Marina and can run up to six hours, so be sure to schedule yourself enough time to enjoy the trip. In addition to the Rainbow Bridge, you will also be treated to sights like Warm Creek, Padre Bay, and Dangling Rope along the journey.
Rainbow Bridge can also be seen from hikes through the surrounding parkland near Navajo Mountain. These trails do require Navajo Parks permits and are recommended for advanced hikers only, as they do cross some rugged canyon terrain.
