Diamond Head State Monument
Encompassing over 475 acres, the Diamond Head State Monument is an Oahu state park, sitting near the edge of Waikiki in Honolulu. Diamond Head, a volcanic cone from the Ko'olau Mountain Range, is Hawaii's most prominent and defining landmark.
The crater's summit, known as Le'ahi, can be reached via 0.8 mile hike ascending over 500 feet into the air. At the top, visitors will find the Fire Control Station built in 1911, Fort Ruger bunkers, and the navigational lighthouse built in 1917.
